NEW BORN & BABY CIRCUMCISION
Some families choose to circumcise based on cultural or religious beliefs.
Others choose to for hygiene or appearance. And some choose not to circumcise.
Circumcision can be done at any age. Traditionally, the most common time to do as soon after your baby is born or within the first month of life.

WHAT TO EXPECT
For children, infancy is the ideal time as at this age, babies feel less pain, move less during the circumcision , quicker healing, better cosmetic outcomes and will have no recollection of the operation- so no psychological impact . Most religious traditions recommend an early circumcision.
Babies Circumcision Procedure
The Newborn Circumcision process is done in the treatment room where babies are awake. Parents are allowed in the treatment room on special cases. The numbing gel/ cream is used to the area 30-40 minutes before starting the procedure. Once the treatment room is all set up, the baby is lied down on the bed and held gently by the nurse assistant. Thereafter, doctor cleans the skin around the penis with the antiseptic solution. Thereafter, small amount of local anesthetics is injected to numb the area. The babies can have dummies or bottle during the procedure so that they remain calm. Parents are encouraged to bring the baby’s
favourite toys for them to hold during the procedure. Our dedicated nurse will constantly interact with the baby and make him feel calm and comfortable as much as possible.
At the end of the procedure, the parents are called in the treatment room to take the baby and feed him.
Parents will be shown how to look after the wound dressing. The nappies are used as usual but with care and routine post operative care explained in detail to the parents.
Our goal is to make it simple for the parents and have the smooth post operative phase. DR. MAMUN will be in constant contact with the parents over phone
and answer all your questions.
Usually, the baby is called in the clinic on day 2 or 3 to check the wound.
